I had been making Jim! Cartoons since late high school and continued so into college. These comics were there for me to develope skills of building characters and stories in comic form. I haven't made a Jim! Cartoon in a very long time, but I always look back at the many comics and remember how things started. Before you click the title above, I do want to mention the Jim! Cartoons can be
mature and dark themed, but are intended to be absurd.
While Jim! was my main focus for years, I have always loved the single panel cartoons found in the New Yorker Magazine, Newspaper Editorials, and by Gary Larson of the Far Side. By clicking the title you will see a few of my ideas.
After a few prints of Jim! Cartoons in the student paper, the student society hired me to create characters and cartoon strips that would promote recycling in the college. During one summer I made over 100 strips all focused around a crazied student who loved to recycle. While this could be an educational cartoon strip, I never tried force education, but to simply show a character / student in love with something important.
